I've been in IT for 9 years professionally, virtually all as a freelance programmer. My credentials for doing the software wouldn't be an issue if I decided to go in to competition with Mike, and as for experience running the IT at JK is small fry compared to some of the stuff I've done in the past.
Why don't go into competition then? Because I volunteer for events, and indeed have written various bits of software over the years for free. OK we all have to make a living and charging for a polished bit of software is one thing but £1k a day is not a consultancy rate we can afford!

I'm still waiting for my TioMila result to appear; or a reply from them to my query

Yes, I did advise the government on COVID. It doesn't mean I know what I'm talking about, but it does mean I know that they don't either.

big screen with video camera(s) on some controls, even if only on one day? excess of toilets? bags of gravel to make sure you can drive out of the field with no problem? radio si units?
how many of these things would you get for the money we are talking about?
even if on the day mike has a disaster and it all goes wrong, i am not going to slate him, jobby happens! my whole argument, that i keep banging on about, is the fact that the committee didnt (to my knowledge) shop around. the monopoly of one man is not a good thing, what happens if he dies?
the things i have listed at the top near to be appearing soon at british events, there are people who orienteer who work in these kind of industries (i not talkin bout the toilets, that jus common sense)

You could always try looking on the TioMila site where your time has been showing since last week
Even slower than the FVO runner too.
