GBR WRE'S
It's my understanding that the next GBR WRE..... WOC Test Races in Forest of Dean .... has been withdrawn as a WRE.... so point fest punters take note (
Go orienteering in Lithuania......... best in the world:)

maybe they'll give us one of the 6 day days (think we'd asked about tullochroisk and were told where to go )

Working on it. Notice that WRE status is likely to be confirmed after you've entered, but pointseekers should consider options for Dalrulzion day 1. Tullochroisk falls foul of the two-year IOF embargo.
I wonder what they're doing wrong in the UK cup final?

Re: GBR WRE'S
Why Dalrulzion? Is it because it is the only standard '6 Day' length (60 min winning time) Day? Day 6 being a reverse order start presumably disqualifies itself. Maybe also beacuse it's a Sunday. Don't envy the planners though, by all accounts they are going through the mill already as a result of extensive felling recently. Hopefully more of the elite will stay for the rest of the week too.

No, you can have WRE middle distances...
It's because the area needs to be embargoed, and as it's a brand spanking new area, it is... it's also good that it's the first day as well, won't have a hang-over. probably

does this mean it has to be seeded start-list or not?

We chose it for the WRE because we think it will be the best WRE race.
Dalrulzion is highly technical and will be absolutely superb for elite orienteering. All our elite test runners reckon it will be the best elite forest race in the UK this year. Most challenging of all - nobody has run there before, so there's a level playing field and they'll have to figure everything out using the map...
With no circuit of paths, and generally tough going near the finish some of the other courses are a tad more challenging to plan - in line with the rumours you heard.

Is there any news on these? I haven't seen any information about where, when or whether they are happening.

Re: GBR WRE'S
When is 3rd-5th of July, apparently, but that's all the info that seems to be publicly available (which I assume is why they gave up on WRE status).
