I read on TAY's website the following:
All competitors will be competitive on all courses so you are not obliged to enter the course recommended for your age class.
However, note that if you enter a course that is not the recommended one for your age, your result will not be included in the aggregation of SOL points for the year.
I sincerely hope this is not quite right. If it is impossible to compete for the year in a younger age class, as I have nearly always done, would be a very bad outcome of the recent changes.

Re: SOL Classes
Trevor Hoey will shortly be publishing details of the scoring system to be used for 2009, this will then be reviewed at the end of the series.
It is based on the old Scottish 6 Days system (they are implementing a new one for 2009).

Re: SOL Classes
Interesting point.
Looking at Oentries for this event you can only enter a colour coded class, there is no entry available into an age class. I guess this is the intention of the new system?
It will be interesting to see how they aim to match up courses to age classes given that there is no method of inputting your age class and some bits of software don't easily match up such info from the SI/BOF database. This is especially true given that TAY use OE, or at least they did at the last event.

Points 8, 14 especially relevant to this topic!
Although to be fair with a new system like this there are always going to be teething problems when it comes to results, series points totals and the like. Difficult people like EddieH (i jest
) will no doubt have their points fixed appropriately afterwards. Run the course you want to run!

Which is odd, since I wrote those for the previous system! I'm sure Trevor will sort it out.
