Re: Good effort
And if they chose a proper Category A race rather than a steep road run I'm sure they'd have done better still.

Good running, good to see them up with some of the top fell runners in the country.
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.

Re: Good effort
Cheers Kitch! A great experience and a satisfactory result (and beautiful framed photo of Snowdon for my efforts).
Not sure what you mean by that Eddie, it was the toughest race I've ever done! In most hill races there is a place to hide, everyone walks a bit so your legs get time to recover. Snowdon was relentless, first up (ran every step of the way
) and then the downhill is an absolute punisher, towards you are end you are praying that the rocky stuff ends as your feet are burning up and you just want to get on the smooth road, then as soon as you are on the road your legs sieze up and you wish you were back on something softer.
A race is a race is a race, only the scared criticize the course.

Re: Good effort
You are of course quite right - it really is tough because it is so relentless, but if the race went over real mountain terrain don't you think it would suit both Doug and you. At least it would definitely not suit some that probably did quite well including I suspect many of the Europeans that would be more used to Snowdon type ascents at least.
