The Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon had dozens of orienteers taking part.
A bit of interest on the Wansfell Class..... Father and daughter pairings.....
Quentin & Katrin Harding winning with Graham & Charlotte Watson second. There is some serious W16 potential coming through at the moment!
Also father and son on the Carrock Fell class, with John and Lewis Taylor in 22nd.
And brother and sister on the Harter Fell.... fourth place for Roger Thomas and Susan Skinner.
WCOC rocks!

And Warrior's Brendan Bolland winning the Klets class. Oh, and the Scafell being won by a mixed team - SYO's Kirsty Bryan-Jones and partner.

Re: Saunders MM
A highly entertaining weekend, despite (because of?) the weather. I was just happy to get round in one piece. Now, if only I hadn't blown 45 minutes on day two looking for the missing control...

Re: Saunders MM
The thing about the missing control on day 2 was that the control site didn't look significant enough to appear on a Harvey's map, and therefore induced doubt about whether I was in the right place. In fact the stream gully above the control site was a lot more distinct than the stream junction itself, which looked as though it might have been dry if we hadn't had all that rain overnight. I lost about 20 mins there, but people kept turning up, and we couldn't all be wrong.
