Details
Day 1: Merthyr Common is a complex open limestone area with many rock features such as sink holes, pits and depressions. It is a great technical area and was used for the recent VHI.
Day 2: The Blorenge consists of open moorland with many complex areas of former small scale industrial extraction. The area was used on the longer courses at the 2007 British Orienteering Championship.
Day 3: Pwll Du consists of a mining wasteland, open but complex and intricately contoured The area was used for the 2007 British Orienteering Championship.
Day 4: Wentwood is an area of old planted woodland overlooking the Severn Esturary. After three days of open moorland Wentwood will provide new and different challenges. Runnability has allegedly improved dramatically in the last few years!
Day 5: Mynydd y Garn is mostly upland limestone with intricate areas and many sink holes. The area also has some small, deciduous woodland areas on the lower slopes.
Day 6: Clydach Terrace is a limestone area, with quarries, running down to complex former mining wasteland. It will be a great challenge on the last day.
Some great areas here - should be a good event!
