All the runners who haven't paid the extra pound for entering late for the Scottish O League today have been made non-comp. not sure if this is a written rule or not (mark?) but what do people think of it?
Personally I think it's a really good idea, a way of ensuring people pay the extra fee (if they want SOL points/glory anyway!)

That was me. If they cough up their £1 (cheques payable to Interlopers OC - or a fiver to Godders ltd ) we'll make them competitive again!
Perhaps they'll enter on time for the next event!
Ant Jones had lots of late nights this week processing all the late entries...

This seems an Ace Idea. Many people entered very late for HOC Breakneck Bank Event, some paid the late fee but a select group just chose to ignore the late entry fee. Any one who has done entries for a big event appreciates the hassle late entries cause particularly when there are restrictions on map nos, or start slots on a course.
Perhaps it should be a BOF rule.
However watch for those who use pre franked envelopes back dated to dates befor the closing date. This is not only illegal but also not in the spirit of orienteering. But it goes on , one entrant has done this more than once. The details envelopes are also prefranked!!!!!
