Just a quick reminder that the Cumbrian short race series start quite soon: 12th April. The series has 2 or 3 short orienteering events all linked to a Regional event. The short races use similar areas to that of the linked regional event. These are great warm up events for a chance to run in similar terrain and similar courses. There will be 3 courses at each event: M/W 16-, M/W Open and M/W Veteran.

First event is actually in 2 weeks, 29th March at Guards and Tarn Hows Woods, Coniston. This is the day before the District and Cumbrian Gallopen at Coombes Wood near Armathwaite (BorderLiners). The start times are between 12.00 and 14.00, although this information is not given on the Short Races website (I e-mailed for the info.).
