It's less than a week away and no mention as of yet on here! Is the Edinburgh vs Sheffield rivalry dying??
So... who's got the upper hand this year? Who's going to be up there challenging for the coveted (for the rest of us...) third place behind the big two? Any predictions for the individuals - a World Uni's selection race I think? And rumour has it there's a strong Hallam team challenging for the women's title?

Have Edinburgh solved this problem? You have to be at the event to win it!

The individual start list is up here. If you spot any errors please let me know.

Cheap as possible - a fiver for a floor?! Are you having a laugh?
Nice to see ShUOC playing as desperate as possible, how this is a fair start list for the last five starters I have no idea:

E 14 335225 Chris Wroe (M21) OUOC Mens A 14:26
E 15 hiring Neill Barton (M21) SHUOC Mens A 14:28
E 6 501088 Scott Fraser (M21) EUOC Mens A 14:30
E 15 46835 Wil Spain (M21) SHUOC Mens A 14:32

Becks,
As ShUOC are organising as well as running, you'll find there's a similar bunch of them at the front of the start block as well, so that they can help early or help late. Then if you look at the last 8 seeded runners, it looks pretty favourable for EUOC...
E 6 503548 Jack Wood (M20) EUOC Mens A 13:48
E 15 503530 Dave Schorah (M20) SHUOC Mens A 13:54
E 6 503541 Douglas Tullie (M20) EUOC Mens A 14:00
E 15 hiring Andy Lewellyn (M21) SHUOC Mens A 14:06
E 6 503516 Hector Haines (M20) EUOC Mens A 14:12
E 14 503550 Joe Mercer (M21) OUOC Mens A 14:18
E 15 220926 Rob Little (M21) SHUOC Mens A 14:24
E 6 501088 Scott Fraser (M21) EUOC Mens A 14:30
As for the floor its only a quid, but it's £2 extra for walls, and another £2 extra for a roof!

Re: BUSA
I am very much looking forward to my 6th BUSA!
(and I could have been to 8 if it were not for Foot and Mouth in '01 and my own laziness in not travelling to Edinburgh in '02).
I have enjoyed Sheffield '03, Oxford '04, Warwick '05, Edinburgh '06, Durham '07, and now Sheffield '08.
I fear this will be my last BUSA, but never say never!
Incidentally is there an upper age limit?
I believe Oli is no longer eligible for World Students so I guess the cut off is ~28 years old?
Maybe I'll manage that top 10 that has eluded me thus far!
Edinburgh seem very strong this year and I can't see Sheffield challenging them, even on home terrrain in the Individual, but I reckon ShUOC might just sneak a mens relay victory.
According to Jon Musgrave the WUSA team will be only Edinburgh students!
let's hope some others can upset the monopoly

Re: BUSA
I think there's a limit on the number of BUSAs one can compete in rather than an absolute age limit, but wiser heads than mine will know the exact details. I may have been pushing that limit towards the end of my tenure as a student.
Also pushing the definition of "compete".
'Mon the EUOC!

That I doubt, especially for the women's team. Although it seems the main selection race will be the UK Cup Final/WOC selections. The rules this year allow up to 6 men and 6 women - any indication of how many will actually be selected? - I vaguely recall it only being 5+5 before... And the age restriction for the world students is "date of birth must be between January 1st, 1980 and December 31st, 1990". Wasn't aware there was one for BUSA itself...
