I would realy like to do this it should be good fun, I like forested sand dunes. My best ever british champs results was on tha Anglesea area.
I am not prepared to drive Bristol to Inverness+ is just too far. The other alternative is easyjet Bristol to Glasgow out Sataday morning return Sunday evening should be possible if sataday is afternoon starts, curent cost £70 plus car hire.
My real problem is that if selection comes into play then I probobly have not done enouth UK cup races to stand much chance of being selected (running my age at national events) So I could enter and only get a competative run on the Sataday and no run at all on the Sunday.
If I enter and wait to know if I have a place or not then I may not be able to get a flight and if I can it will cost me an arm and a leg....
So the question is what are my chances of a run? Should I book the flight?

i think you should be fine. i'm pretty sure i'll get a run with my low number of uk cup points (24) and it's not going to increase as i can't make any of the next 4 uk cup events. Also, because of the location, some people might decide not to travel therefore more spaces for everyone else, 100 in total I think? There weren't even 100 at the JK...

I'd guess they'll be pretty good - it's not a selection race, it's a long way from any major population centres and if you're lucky it might even be around some students exams... so I can't see it being a massive turn-out, although I wait to be proved wrong.
I think there's a colour-coded (sorry, district) event on the Sunday in Lossie so you'd still have something to do if not.

Students might be put off anyway because it is an 'adult race' (21E) so there are no student entry fees (I was told that the 20E, for students, is at a different time) Should I tell the organisers that I am not the only 26 year old student - it is an 'adult race' and maybe by virtue of being a student I should be excluded from that anyway !

yes, welcome to the real world of student exams, universities don't care what day of the week it is!
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.

So what if it's an 'adult' race? You should still be able to get student fees. I'm a full time student this year, and have had no trouble getting student fees at M45 (thank goodness - fees are getting a bit silly nowadays. Might even join the value for money brigade at this rate
