Warwick Town Race
The fifth race in the 2007 UK Cities Cup will be the Warwick Town Race, on Sunday 7 October. Initial details can now be found here and there's a link from there to online entry. The event looks set to be fantastic, with the races going right into Warwick Castle.

When you get to the third screen in the online entry system (called 'event specific details' then the drop-down menu for 'class' gives you the options 'men long' 'women long' and so on. The previous screen is generic to all events and saves your details which is why it asks you for your standard class.
Hope that makes sense!

The entry deadline is now extended to 28 Sept (mostly to help students get their entries in as term is only just starting) so still time to sign up.
The start and finish of the race are in St Nicholas Park in Warwick, which has a fab cafe as well as mini golf, crazy golf, and a little children's amusement park including bouncy castle and train rides. Also within the park you can hire motor boats, rowing boats and pedaloes, and go up the Avon for beautiful views of Warwick Castle. Perfect for making a day out of it.

Oh dear - does that mean using the Emit cards without a screen if we're hiring? And if we don't, does the system cope with V3? Genuine question, as this might kickstart me into getting my own: hate those V2 cards!

All the OD Emit cards are V3 or above. Don't know though whether the club is having to hire in additional ones. Liz X would know.
