O in The Guardian
Quite a reasonable article about a family's first go at O in a London park (event curtesy of LOK)from the paper's resident GP columnist. Actually quite well described though didn't mention the elite side of sport - since it was a "days out with the family" feature I don't supppose that is that suprising. Certainly more informative and positive than some other articles. Perhaps clubs shoould prepare for a few enquiries, what with the CATI season just round the corner.

Great to see orienteering hitting the press.... but a long way to go before getting coverage like the Norwegians. Eric Borg (O journalist) has an inside back page story in this mornings Aftenposten in Oslo...

Agreed- a good article. Of course, it would be good to get more coverage of the elite side as well- that would make orienteering seem a bit cooler!
Personally, I have no objections to using the 'D' word, but in this case, with no explanation of what it is, the article might seem a bit confusing to a non orienteer.

I think this is an excellent article and a very efficient form of publicity. New members for my club may be generated without us having to do any additional work (assuming BOF have sufficient staff to refer enquires onto the clubs).
It would be interesting to find out the best ways of getting such articles in other national newspapers. We dont want just Guardian readers, why not Sun readers? I draw the line at Daily Mail readers though.
