So, is anyone else excited about the British this weekend. What's it like? - who'll win? Is it the worst M21E field ever? Will the anoraks like the winning times...?
Breaking the non-tipping habit of a lifetime, I hereby curse the following...
1. OJ 85
2. Duncan 88
3. Nails 89

Er yes, good moorland area, OJ in 80mins, nah - BEOC middle last year was worse, probably not.

Is it just me or has no one else received their details yet?
I know they are on the website, but the Final Details look to be provided in a format to be printed in the usual booklet form (as at the JK). Surely the details should be sent out, even if you enter on line, for a prestigous event such as the British Champs?

They've been sent to the named contact on the entry form - if you entered with somebody else, maybe they've got the details?

Positives:
Gloriously sunny weather.
Nice assembly area with good views of the incoming runners.
Technically and physically challenging course - the old quarry workings were a lot more intricate than I was expecting, but the more technical an area the more I tend to like it.
Nicely planned course that was really enjoyable, and which kept me thinking all the way round. Definitely worthy of being a BOC course.
Negative:
Not sure if this is just a reflection of the intricacy of the area, but the map felt like it had been drawn as a 1:10000 map and then photo reduced to 1:15000. (Certainly the control descriptions were only 2/3 the size they should have been.) My eyesight is good, but even I couldn't see a lot of the detail whilst running, and even sitting here at home I feel like a magnifying glass would come in handy...
Overall a thoroughly enjoyable event.

Excellent 2 days, good job the rain held off today.
Like Knee Deep Mud I struggled a bit with the detail at 1:15000 in places, # 1 on M40L was a depression that on the map looked more like a knoll. At least I know that next year I'll be on 1:10000!
Relays were good to watch, with people piling down the slope to the spectator control, then climbing back out for the final few controls, bit cruel to have this so close to the finish.....
Nothing to do with the event but am I correct in thinking Pub Food is hard to find in the region, we had an "interesting" experience with glutionous soup and main courses with no veg on offer, something about the chef being new.....frozen peas obviously a challenge.
Thanks due to the organisers, helpers and sponsors.

What a great event! Absolutely fantastic area, really technical, i personally found the 1:15000 map ok to read, but must admit the map for the relay at the lower scale was easier to read on the run (but this is always the way with different scale maps).
Both days were really enjoyable, great weather on Saturday, great spectator event on Sunday.
Thanks to the organisers and all involved, shame more people weren't there.
