i suppose i agree with that - so you agree that the British champs should be kept together and held on penhale, very technical terrain.

trebor there you go again....penhale..very technical terrain....while some people think sand dunes are the most difficult terrain out there....penhale is a piece of pis......massive linear features....huge visibility....single thickets that stand out a mile....nothing to put the control in/behind....the list goes on......i could name you a hundred areas which are technically more difficult....though i'm not going to and no don't challenge me to it!

Open areas can never be very technical - some, like Penhale, would be if they were covered in forest or thick fog. Only thing that makes Penhale vaguely difficult is the map as it has 5m contours (rather than 2.5m) making it harder to pick out the landforms.

Have to agree Nails, Penhale is many things (including highly enjoyable), but it is not very technical. Biggest problem: no trees. Hard for anywhere with such high visibility to really hit the heights. (Later edit: seems Dave and I were typing up at about the same time - sorry this effectively just duplicates his post)
