I can understand your frustration Migsy if you feel that something is not being done the way you think it ought to, but if you're a member of BOF, then you are part of BOF, and it IS up to you to present such things to those working on your behalf. How else are they to know that you think it should be done a different way?
Fair point. But when I posted this I wasn't a member of BOF. As a card carrying punter I've never seen the point (other than insurance at events) in joining BOF, I'm going to get more hot meals in a year than I am ranking points, and in general have felt a touch disenfranchised by the establishment. Therefore posting here was an attempt to affect a response and vent my frustration in the hope that the points made would eventually find their way back to BOF. However, with the indication that the Nopesport generation intend to go to the AGM on mass and make their presence felt, yesterday I became the proud owner of a BOF membership number.
'here are some pennies, here is some AV equipment, make us a video that promotes orienteering to young people'.
And OK, I'm happy to accept that this approach is a little naive. Although, with many students seemingly spending alot of the summer orienteering, I'm sure with the right encouragement, there is the potential for plenty of appealing video footage of orienteering which could be put to good marketing use.
