Nopesport at the AGM - strategies?

hmm. my typeface-geeking comes mainly from cartography lectures, plus a bit of personal geeking on top. Agree that helvetica is good - Verdana is nice for headings. I've no idea what the magazine in question looks like, but agree that for small text (assuming it's not properly typeset and litho-printed, and assuming we're talking less than 8pt or so) then sans-serif is probably clearer.

Mrs H . All this talk about fonts. They didn't go into that much detail for my DTP exams. Just consistency, sizes and using a contrast. Sans Serif for Headings ans Serif for body or Vica Versa. I'm a fan of book antiqua, just as a variation on times cos that's boring and I could get Book Antiqua to fit on the pages in the exams.
Of course theres always Impact if you're attention seeking.
Don't know what a code monkey is, but I suspect that husband and or No 1 son might be one of these.

Perhaps I should just stick with the old parish news letter style - not all my readers are as sophisticated as you lot.
I like Porkys but think it could leave the reader feeling a bit drunk in large quantities.
However - there definitely seems to be room for experimentation - if the rain keeps me out of the garden next week who knows what I'll come up with

well, it's a thought - if this child protection thing ever gets sorted out I could run of a couple of dozen extra copies and put them in the HOC shop - as long as i cover my costs they could charge what they liked and give the money to who ever they wanted

Hoc Shop has been going for about four years. It was stared by juniors for juniors selling s/h kit plus sweets and drinks at events. The first co-ordinator Mark Farrington has now given up O but the shop kept him involved for a longer period than he otherwise would have been. It is a focus for club juniors at events and adds to the social scene for juniors. Sometimes the beastly weather ruins this. Just like it does for Ultra sport etc
