Reading back through the postings, there has been some pretty substantial chuntering about BOF. Well, having received the AGM papers today, I notice that there are 2 vacancies for councillors, with nominations allowed from the floor. Councillors are at the heart of BOF decision making, and have a wide ranging remit for getting involved in all sorts of aspects of BOF.
So, anybody up for it? Mrs H.?

What and have to sit at the same table as Robin Field again. I'm sorry but being put in detention by him once was enough(I'm not joking there). I have offered my services to BOF several times already and been rejected - there's a limit to how far even I will stick my neck out - so anyway Awk - why did you leave BOF

Why did I leave? Number of reasons. I reckon 5 years in a development job is enough - it needed fresh input. I'd also worked 15 years full-time in sports/recreation development, I wanted to enjoy the sport again as a sport; going to events hadn't been much fun for a while. Certainly doing that now, and am starting to get back into coaching at club level, which is both really enjoyable and where the biggest gaps lie at present.
I also needed a break from all the battles trying to get change past committees dominated by regional and club reps, most of whom seemed to believe that their own personal anecdotal experience was representative of the totality. The real challenge isn't BOF, at least at officer/staff level, but in club/regional conservatism.
Anyway, teaching is far better paid.
