EYOC 2006

Just browsing web site and two things struck me.
1. Ireland have one M18 competitor and 4 officials-so who is on a jolly
2. The maps for Classic and relay are 1:10000. Is this normal as our competitors are used to 1:15000 at that age. Also Sprint is 1:4000. What is usual scale for sprint maps?

sprint is fine at 1:4000 (either that or 1:5000 normally I think)

I'd be equally happy on a 1:10000 as a 1:15000, might use 1:15000 at big races but everyone still uses 1:10000 enough at smaller ones so it won't be a problem

The difference with Irish Jollies is that the team and the officials pay more or less everything themselves. There is a fantastic team of pretty young Irish orienteers who are incredibly enthusiastic getting involved with the junior squad and if they fancy a trip out to EYOC then great!

Toni I suspected they paid their own way is it an investigation trip before juniors enter en-mass in the future. Is there an Irish team in JWOC? Or are the Irish blooding the youngster at EYOC?

that seems to be a mistake on the eyoc website. theres 4 irish fellas running at eyoc and 1 team leader. they had a team at eyoc last year.

and yes theres going to be 3 fellas for ireland at jwoc and 1 team leader. good luck to them all!
