I have spent about 10-20mns reading this thread - All of you guys are BOF members ( including myself), the bitching is beautiful, yet:
How many of you have ever been to the BOF agm?
How many have voted?
I would be surprised to see if any of you have.
Lets be constructive about this, get a list of reasonable proposals for the AGM, that a majority agree upon, or even suggestions, and make the change. (Hopefully) I am correct in saying the AGm is at the JK. Get round to sorting out the proposals and stuff. If we had enough people from Nope willing to turn up and vote, we could force any proposal. through.
Future of Orienteering
Moderators: [nope] cartel, team nopesport
something else we already discussed
we talked about getting proxy votes from members, and running polls on the topics to be voted on, then the member with all the proxy votes would vote the way of the polls.
everyone turning up would be great, but if we could get proxy votes we could get a lot more votes through.
does anyone actually know if this is possible?
i seem to remember godders mentioning this at some point.
do people think this is a good idea or would they rather turn up themselves?

Of course it's possible is...... if you do it correctly: Some year ago I was nominated for BOF Council... part of the thing was to support student entry fees I think. We sat outside the social at BUSA in Teviot Row Union and signed up more than enough proxy votes..... on the day we could actually have re-written the entire BOF set up

Think either would be good but turning up en masse would probably be best. I know BOF doesn't come across as particularly great but I bet if a ton of you/us guys turned up at the AGM there would be at least a few people overjoyed to see it. I know there are people in BOF pushing for more of the younger views to be listened to and it would help their cause immensely if those views were pushed forward in a non-ignorable (not sure that's a word but still) fashion. Go for it.

we shall collect proxy votes for anyone who cant go, and for everone else we reccomend that you turn up. show face and make things happen.
now what shall we vote for.....

Get the ideas but remeber there a closing date and I would think its fairly soon. It would be a shame if we missed out on this one.
One thing I would vote for would be the funding of students to become coaches. If they are willing to put the time in us old foggies should pay not them.
