JK Final Details

I've just been scanning through the JK final details as mentioned on the home page and I'd like to congratulate the Yorkshire organising committee for pushing the boat out. I am really looking forward to the event.

they've taken a lot of the ideas introduced last year - many of which you said you wanted - and even enlarged on them - for instance the public shelter tent is now a marquee (I had to plead for what we had last year - but from the look of this it could becoe a permanent feature at JKs from now on - we actually try and put an extra tent up at badge events etc now ehnever we can.)

there's also the flower ceremony for elites, a much hyped prize giving and loads going on at the event centre - I'm absolutely delighted to see such enterprise and I'm sure more and more people will think about spendig their easter at the JK if they thought they were going to get such an Extra Value experience.

I hope it is an outstanding success - now all we need is the weather.......

Hidden away in the BOC final details is the fact that a marquee is also available for public shelter - good ideas catch on fast.

Pity about the long walks from the car park to assemblies, and starts. This goes for the British too.

As the assembly includes using a 'public road' and the 'traders will be in a car park'... has the council/police closed this road? And are the public banned from the car park?

From the final details: "The Assembly Area consists of a large grass verge, a small car park, and a short section of Wells Road, closed to through traffic. "

Yes, but it's even nicer to have an area at all. Sometimes, just sometimes, one has to put the need to find an area to handle 2-3000 competitors from M/W10 and 70-odd to Elite in front of the needs of spectators.

What has been provided is an assembly area with excellent views, and I'm sure an exciting run-in. The views of the competition area from the car park are pretty good too. Worth bringing binoculars.

Oh...and of course if you arrive by train, your walk will be nicely reduced. 2 trains an hour to/from Leeds, another 2 trains an hour to/from Bradford, and 4 an hour along the Wharfedale section of the line. I'd suggest your spectators catch the train. We will.

Apologies if I'm jumping the gun , but does anyone know when the start times will be posted?

Yep - I think you're jumping the gun - they can't do start times until after the closing date - March 31st.

Well I think that's daft. How can people plan thier weekend if they don't know the start times at least 6 weeks in advance. Many people need to prebook breakfast at Mrs Beaton's Guest House. Will BOF refund the breakfast fee if we miss it because of not knowing start times????

So... JK start times are up but the entries close on Friday... If people are still entering Elite will the make a new start list, because it should be seeded, right?

According to the entry form "No Elite entries will be accepted after 20th March 2006". So Elite entries are already closed.
