Dear All,
I would like to invite your comments and thoughts on the above. It is not long now until the new CompassSport website and magazine will be launched. However, I have been umming and arghing on the logo. Before I tell you what I think, what do nopesport readers think?
1, Is the current logo (see http://www.CompassSport.com) good, bad, need changing? The name is staying the same. Is it old fashioned or modern? Does it state what we/orienteering magazine is about? Would you change all/some/part of it?
2, I invite people with graphic skills, to come up with new ideas and alternatives, ideally asap, but certainly by the end of the weekend. Some reward will be on offer for any logo that is used.
Logos can be sent to nickbarrable(AT)hotmail.com or posted here.

I think the current logo is cool and retro. Now im not a designer, but if you want to style the whole magazine retro which is quite cool then you might want to keep the logo.
however, would the readers think you were styling it retro or just not notice any change. A rebranding might help to generate excitement. Have you got a designer?

In a way the current "logo" isn't really a logo at all, as it's not simple and distinctive enough to instantly stand for CS. I'd suggest if you do want to keep something similar (always a good idea to have some sort of continuity, particularly as I'm sure some subscribers will be put off by the idea that it's been taken over by the youngsters) then dump the mountains, trees and lake, and possibly the control too, and just have the runner and compass - maybe rearranged slightly, and possibly with a second colour for the compass for clarity.
