This years SOL M21L class saw wins for Jon Musgrave (M40) and Duncan Coombs (M18). So I wondered who were the oldest/youngest ever badge event winners at M21. :?:

Colin Dickson (M50) has won some in the last couple of years that I can remember down in South England.

How could they both win M21? ipresume this is at the same event.
Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.

If Hoclite got up early & suffered the major traffic & travelled up north for an 1130 start then it would become obvious that SOL refers to Scottish Orienteering League :lol:

Thanks Gross, theres getting up early and theres.........As Graeme mentioned badge events I assumed he meant one badge event. I must read more carefully.PS What time do you think I need to get up to get to the FCC cup final this year in Oban. Did it when junior was 8 and took time out of school but in middle of A/S's it's not so easy!!!!!!

Probably about as early as someone from Scotland need to get up to travel to (for example the BOC 2005) or to any other events down south.

But 'I'm alright jack' for BOC 2006 as I can easily get the early morning flight from Vilnius & be in Gatwick at 0730 on the morning of the competition.... request an early start time :lol: back to Gatwick & in the pub at 2100.

I see that the W21L class at Ash Ranges event at the weekend was won by 16-year-old Anne Edwards. That must be one of the youngest ever...

.....but not as young as 15 year old Yvette Hague winning the women's elite at JK on High Dam in 1983!

I think Yvette has claimed the women's youngest ever title, what about the men's? I remember GG winning a few when he was an M18, not sure if he was older or younger than Duncan is now though.
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.
