On another note, The event starts at the Sport Palace Arsenale. Does anyone know where in venice this is? I can't find it on multimap. It would be annoying to get all the way there and not even be able to find the start!
And before anyone gets clever- the start on the 1998 map is in Piazza San Marco, which has nothing to do with either sport or arsenale.

I think it might be the Palazzo dello Sport at the right hand side of this map - in the Arsenal area of the city a bit east from St Marks square.

There should be enough people to ask - 16 of us from DVO! - and we'll find out at the Saturday event.
Should be a fun weekend!

I went last year and would agree that sport palace arsenale is the palazzo della sport on that map - it's possibly the ugliest building in venice.
The event centre was there last year but the start was on the southern tip of venice, you had to get there by boat! I'd say the best thing to do is make your way to the sport palace on the saturday, work out what's going on then sunday will run smoothly.
It was a really good event, watch out for turning blind corners and running straight into big groups of tourists/other runners!

I'll just take the opportunity to recommend the event to anyone with a weekend, and c.£140inc. food to go - absolute concentration required for 75 mins on a good run, and some of the best control-flow practise around.
Didn't help that I was over 30 mins late for my start time, though

If you have not done this event put it in your diary for next year now .... amount of climb given in the number of bridges you have to cross and running against the tourists across the Rialto Bridge is a life experience.
Needs total concentration to stay with the map ... just awesome !!
3160 runner this year
Just don't miss this one next year
