As we near the the last weekend in October, the great Karrimor International Mountain Marathon looms large over us once again. Who's going? Are you all ready?
I'm doing the C course again, and I've seen a fair few orienteers on the start lists...

I'm doing B with my Dad. What's the weather forecast?!

Its not supposed to be that bad i don't think...but it's gonna be rather wet underfoot what with all the recent rain.

That says sunny intervals on saturday, and showers on sunday, could be worse.

Excuse me this is my 5th mountain marathon so we've got experience too, and a big jump down from long score. However I'm with you on the not catching you as I've been ill for the last month and am feeling unfit

i'm doing the B and have absolutely no experience whatsoever! a lot of orienteers on our course. including heather monro and dickie jones, ed and kai catmur, coombs sr and jr, rob baker and ant squire. should be fun, bbc weather says it'll be sunny, i reckon they've got it wrong

The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.

yup, can't find the official say so but tis something i saw a while back.
Since 1968 an event bearing the KIMM name has been held in at least six or eight countries. The event formula has been copied in at least a dozen countries worldwide.
The KIMM name change is to be brought about in 2006, coinciding with a relaunch of the Kimmlite brand as ‘Original Mountain Marathon’ or ‘O.M.M’.
Mike Parsons, the man behind both the event and product line, has said that there are some very exciting products and event developments due for 2006 that will be under the new OMM brand.
