The BOF website and subsequent Nope posting about the Junior squad 2006 is wrong.
It is missing athletes from the list.

Thought I was having a very senior moment when I saw the list on Nope, so checked it with BOF site and it matched but yesterday, about 6pm, I saw the same names on BOF that Jason's just posted. Obviously someone else's senior moment, not mine.

Apologies to anyone effected by the wrong team list being put up on nopesport. This list was taken directly from the BOF website.

On these lines I would also like to say that as of this moment all GBR Squad members that I have talked to have not been contacted by BOF about their selection in the squad. The only place the selections are available, to my knowledge as a squad member, is on the BOF website. So what the hell do BOF think they are doing by putting up the wrong information??? This is completely unacceptable and all those affected should be aplogised to by those responsible.

Below is an excert from the most recently publicly available selection policy document:

This is the communication route we will follow:
· Team Selected
· All athletes, who have just missed out on selection, will be contacted (by phone or in person)
before the team is announced.
· Letter sent to all athletes / staff (and copies sent to all Squad members when GB Teams have
been selected).
· Team published on BOF web site ‘www.britishorienteering.org.uk’ and sent to press and
sponsors.


If what Mharky claims above is accurate then it would seem that BOF are not following thier own selection rules

We very much regret that the names of several athletes selected for the Junior Development Squad were omitted from the British Team webpage for a period over the weekend. This apparently happened during some update work on the website and has now been rectified. Athletes affected have been informed directly.
