Another obituary, and a very affectionate one, in the Independent today.

I particularly liked the comment that Eric was 'a warm, open sort who communicated his love of mountains ... by his own enthusiam and inspiration'.

Eric was a man who brought sunshine into the lives of all who met him. Eric may be gone but you can still see the sunshine in their faces when they think of him.
