Want to run in mature white forest?
On 8th & 9th of October Interlopers are organising the Scottish Night Champs and a Scottish O League (Badge Event) at Drummond Hill. Last used for the Scottish 6 day it is a 5km ridge of mainly mature white forest. Located near Aberfeldy.

I don't remember Drummond Hill as being particularly brilliant terrain. I think there are many areas that could rival it and have been used this year. Surely Camus o May is superior for a start, I certainly found it more technical although less physical than I remember Drummond Hill. Also the Trossachs have been used this year. I've not experienced them but the reputation goes before.
Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.

Don't know where your course went but you can't have got onto the map extracts. (I know the 6 day courses finished through some green plantation which none of the courses will be going into this time.)
It's some of the most enjoyable orienteering terrain in the UK. Unfortunately it's not been used for a long time as Capercaille mean no access from March to September.
No boulder fields like Cambus, not as vertical as the Trossachs. Far better than the bracken and bramble invested areas you run on week in and week out in England.
