Why are these relays restricted to M/W12+?
I see little reason why an M/W10 cannot participate.

There was lots of discussion about this point by the Junior Competitions Group. If I remember accurately it was decided that although some M/W10s would be quite capable of coping with the whole weekend some would not. It was felt better to restrict it and have people really keen to go when they reached M/W12 rather than have anybody put off by a bad M/W10 experience.

Well, rules are rules and they state that a m/w10 cannot enter. So I suggst you do not participate, and find an event where they would be welcome.

I'm sorry if the wording of my question was construed as a moan, it was not the intention. It was a genuine enquiry as I thought M/W10's had participated in the past but were this year being prevented from doing so. Therefore, had something happened that required a revision of the rules?

It's been ages since M/W10s were allowed to compete...back when I was that age! El is right about the rule, and though I coped fine as a ten there were worries that the whole experience might be a bit too much for some of them.
Will? We've got proper fire now!

Yes, I guess M/W10 actaully covers 0 - 10, so this seems more of reasoned response.
There's me and the misses thinking we could send the M3, W6, M8 & the M10, free weekend babysitter! But joking aside, I guess there needs to be an age limit and M/W11 is were it is for a team to be competitive.

MMmmm! Well LostAgain - looking at this and the MEROC thread, it seems you've got yourself a Squelcher
Squelchers are like stalkers because they like to harrass their chosen one - they pop up as guests and rubbish everything you say on principle.
I've got one too - it's quite flattering really

Its True that i was upset that i could not run as a ten, but I was much more exited when i could do it.
However, can't they raise the handicap slightly?

handicap, no..since otherwise loads of teams could be under the handicap which would mean more teams with no chance of winning..
and i def think M/W12 is the lowest it should be, as we are taking some 12's this year but with only a few adults, they do seem very young compared to us 18's
