Thanks to all the organisers for a great week in Scotland. Little rain no midges good areas and a fantastic campsite, what more could you want (ok, a little more sunshine)?
Davie, his familly and helpers ran a really friendly helpful set up on the site especially when you hear of the constraints the estate had set.
The marque was excellent and I hope it becomes a regular feature of the Scottish and hot (very) showers even.
I just wanted another week so I could learn to orrienteer better!
What a fantastic 6 days

The marquee was excellent this year and I agree a set up of a similar nature should be at every 6 days evet. However, I believe there was only a marquee this year because of the lack of other activities nearby, such as pubs etc. In 2 years time the event centre is in the School in Grantown-on-spey, where there are pubs close by. I think it would be a good idea to consider the marquee and I will pass these thoughts on to the organising committee (ESOC/BASOC)

marquees cost money
i agree the marquee was v.good (but the live music made it work even better). all this costs quite a piece of dough - would six day competitiors prefer to fund it out of entry fees, or higher bar prices, or door charges to see the music, or some other way...?
nice work if you can get it

The round table organiser said on the last night that they had made a profit of $2-3000 for charity so perhaps bar takings could partially fund a marque as well as paid for events like the dance. If there was a room in the school that could be used for intertainment and as a bad weather refuge that would do instead. I think it was especially useful for the youth site who generally have little tents. On the subject of the youth site I would like to be on record as complimenting the overwhelmimg majority of the youth of all the countries represented for their courteous but fun making behavior. The further than usual separation from the main camp site worked well for all but the very few who felt it their duty to demonstrate their lack of consideration for others on Thursday night.
