There are a number of championship events. British, Southern, Midland (includes Wales), Northern and probobly a Scotish. There will be full age group classes at these events. The numbers are low though, even the British will not get more than 200 people normaly.
Then the various regions have there own local fixtures some with organised leagues. Formats varie, usualy only somthing like 3 courses though.
The Western Night League I do localy will have about 10 events during the winter. All run on a one hour score format with a number of controlls suitable for begginers. There is a complex handicap system as well as the overall results, so even though the numbers are relativly low the competition can be fierce. Numbers are normaly from 20 to 60 people.
Night O is definatly my prefered form of O. I will travel a long way to do a small night event, especialy if it's a good quality area. Unfortunatly quite a lot of night events tend to be on the less technical areas, that are marginal for puting on good technical courses in the day.....

if we all plant 6 trees i'm sure we can make an area.
(we have to (we being everyone in the world) plant 6 trees in order to absorb our CO2 emmisions, according to a noble prize winning lady at the Live8 Edinburgh Final Push concert, which was well good)

i'm sure she said to plant 10 trees. that little kid fae sierra leonne was the best. even pyrat was welling up. and the clicking - great. the white card thing was a bit jobby though. one of the best moments was when bono introduced nelson mandela and everyone was like wow and craning their necks to see him but then it was a video message but it was still amazing.
shame about some of the music but ye a nice evening out.
-i hope you like my review of the concert.
