Been to some stinking, rough, nettle filled woods. The local gringos are funny though... a beer and a fag sitting on a small path in the middle of an area on your own at quarter to ten in the morning!??

Erm, i've just noticed the change to the news story saying Jenny has disqualified herself, surely someone other than Jenny should have noticed that she'd missed a control out? Are they using pin punching or something?
or is it just our field reporters missing a trick?

Emit electronic punching was used for the Team GBR Special Selection Race sprint distance. Upon finishing athlete's e-cards were taken and their splits were printed using a mini-printer. The times were then read of the top and written down onto a results sheet. As there had been no disqualifications during the day up until then (men ran first) prehaps the person writting down the times had grown complacent, assuming that everyone had completed the course, after all it's the GBR selection race. At no point were the cards downloaded into a computer results system. Whilst gonig through her splits later on Jenny notcied that she was missing one, she then informed the coaching staff and was removed from the results.
The leg in question was 4-5. Many people made errors here as leg 6 was a very long route choice, and so people were concentrating this so when they punched 4 they headed off to 6, forgetting 5. Both MN and GG did this, but realised after they had gone a fiar way from the control.
