Also, I missed the Mrs H exchange that led to her being excluded (?). Could someone please provide a potted history?
She wasn't excluded, Don't start rumours now she was insulted and has thus I would suggest withdrawn, and is using her time to further local orienteering, rather than receive abuse from unknown elites

I wondered where she had gone ?
Thought she might have been knobbled by BOF.
Was her departure and the closing down of the Irish forum related in any way ?
Real shame if she has been hounded out.

Motion seconded
I second the motion to bring Mrs H back. She truely has the best interests and future of the sport at heart.

This thread was not set up to curtail negative feedback, best done in a constructive manner.
I am appalled reading some of the downright rude and abusive comments, often not even related to the topic. “Retard” was one used recently, amongst others. This is unnecessary.
The vast majority, if not all, of the posters know what is acceptable behaviour. If you would be unwilling to use the abusive language to their face then please do not use it on Nopesport.
I also did not know that Mrs H. had gone in to hiding. I’m sure the commentary must have been pretty rough for her to “delist”. This needs a full investigation and the culprits named shamed and forced to publicly apologise. If in doubt about this then set up a poll and we’ll vote on it!

I feel a need to defend myself.
First of all this all started when Nails made a cheeky but fairly innocuous comment about 17mpkms. Mrs H then called Nails a nasty word beginning with W and the arguement continued. Nails was quite rude but Mrs H started the rudeness.
All I said was to Nails because calling Nails a nasty word beginning with W was uncalled for and although he probably should have risen above it i reckoned it was fair play to respond.
As for us never having done any development work.
Nails is very active in organising trainings etc in Sheffield and giving up free time to coach juniors.
Mharky is currently doing a big mapping project in Edinburgh which will be to many people's benefit and bring orienteering to the whole city and maybe public conciousness.
I did my first orienteering development aged 15 when I invented and organised the Rushcliffe Schools Champs which has now grown into the huge orienteering competition the Nottinghamshire Youth games, given loads of kids their first o experience. I've done loads of other stuff at Uni and with kids.
I really enjoy doing this stuff when I get the time to fit it in around training and competing. and life!
The difference actually between us and Mrs H when it comes to this development work is we don't always tell everyone and go fishing for praise. I never wrote on that fishing thread she started after the JK but if I had I would have said yes thank you the event campsite and entertainment was very good.
So that's that. It's only a website, the sport is so much bigger than nopesport so don't let it sour your experiences Mrs H. Just relax, don't be so defensive next time and don't take anything too personally. It's only Neil!!

hounded out by so-called elite like Nails, Harry and Mharky. they may have found her irritating but they didn't have to be so offensive - at least she put her money where her mouth was (so to speak)haven't seen any of the above 3 mentioned do anything to promote the sport in that regard.

The rudeness had been going on for quite a while before then (between quite a few people on many different threads). The few posts you mention, harry, were just when it came to a head.

i dont agree that mrs H started the rudeness..
think the blame does lie more with nails tho here.. reading Mrs H's post bout nails it seemed very much just banter...where as what nail said was just nasty... neither of the 17km or "w word" posts seemed that offensive to me.. but nails's "nobody cares" post would of made me go n cry in a corner or something! and if its scared mrs H off then i think nopesport has lost one of its most active and sensibly posting members, also think that if the post had been in banter / discussion rather than the relay league thread more ppl would of stood up for mrs h / shot down neil... im rambling.. but still think nails should apologise..and mrs H should come back!! and mod's shud create a posting ban or something... block nails for a week for his nasty posting.. *shrugs.. would stop the nastiness...

Hi everyone, Porky e-mailed me to say I was mentioned in despatches - just to put the record straight I apologise for calling Neil the W word - but I did write it very small so anyone who read it must have tried to! - also I did it because he made fun of how long it took me to do the long night leg at last year's harveter - i havn't seen anyone belittle anyone else's performance on nopesport before - except as banter among friends and was a bit surprised that i should be ridiculed by an elite. I totally accept that I am Iritating, attention seeking and have too much time on my hands - the charges laid against me - but i was quite unprepared for the venom and obvious pleasure taken in that post - as for Mharky and Harry - well they are free to say what they like.
Mind you I'm amused at Harry's assumption that my apres JK thread was fishing for compliments when next year's organisers were beseigeing me to know what worked and how they could keep the ball rolling/make it better - how else should I find out but ask what worked? How should I have asked?
anyway - i'll let you know how I get on with MADO in the autumn - and before I'm accused of blowing my own trumpet again over that - remember - it might be a disaster.
i still think nope is great and the mere fact that people are looking at ths shows how strong it it.
Have a great summer everyone

Wishing you all the success with the venture.... But it doesn't matter what happens. We all need to know how it worked, so that we can learn from the good bits and avoid making the same mistakes (if there are any).
I wish more clubs would tell us all how they are recruiting members. We have 6000 new members to find, sooner rather than later, so the more fruitful the ideas are the better. Clubs... get your trumpets out!

Many other forums I've looked at have sticky posts clearly labelled giving advice on what is and is not acceptable to new posters, I wonder if anyone in Nopecartel has considered this and whether it would be appropiate for this forum.
They also have a newbies forum for new people to introduce themselves, maybe not as necessary here but just a suggestion.
