the [nope] cartel are considering this, but as we are currently spread accross an area covering most of northern europe it will take us some time to finalise our policy.

If you see BBC message boards they have a link "Complain about this post" on every post. I guess the mods get these flagged up somewhere and can direct their moderations to those posts. There is danger there will be too many to moderate of course.
Can't comment on the particular argument - didn't see it. I do feel there's more expletives hitting the discussion section than there used to be however. I don't mind but perhaps reduces the credibility of the section. When I first got a Nope flyer and looked on discussion I was frankly amazed that something run but "some kids from Edinburgh" had such informed discussion on Orienteering - this is what drew me in. Banter with people I don't know came later.

Rapprochement
Do I sense a virtual shaking of hands/'no hard feelings' moment between a couple of contributors?
I hope so.
In the meantime, people _love_ recognition in any form, and a even a few words on the forum on relevant threads can keep the goodwill going, therefore helping orienteeing to have a strong base for future growth. So, to all those 'lurkers', don't be shy - say hi... (oh dear, sounds a bit cheesy - I'll be off now).
