No - what it gets is a result, whether that result is as fair as possible is impossible to say. You may as well say (in the case that the control is in the wrong place, e.g. at the JK day 1, and not stolen half-way through the event) that the results will stand as they are and claim that that's fair because "it's the same for everyone". Someone will always be able to justify pretty much anything.
Yes voiding a course is regretable, but imho it's better than fudging it. Personally I also think that more courses should be voided - a zero tolerance approach at anything C3 or above (C4 and 5 are often used as training for planners/controllers so some allowance must be made, but even then there should be clear feedback that if it had been a bigger event then it would have been void).
