As many of you will know, we have a fine tradition of Orienteering at Newcastle University and a 30 year history to boot. We have seen so many world class orienteers join our ranks, we've lost count of them. We've hosted BUSA, won it and have been a force to be reckoned with for many years (although the winning has never been TOO important).
Unfortunately, the club has been forced to enter a short period of "hibernation" as there is not enough interest in the sport at present to make an active club feasible.
This is very sad news for all who have been members of this very active and lively club in the past years.
The club has been running on low numbers for the past year, but we still live in hope that the club may be reawakened very soon. If anyone knows of anyone who may be coming to Newcastle University in the next year or so, please alert them to this message. The club is ONLY sleeping, NOT closed, and there is information on our webpage with email addresses of people to get in contact with if there are interested parties.
As the present and outgoing captain, I will be around Newcastle for the next year keeping my fingers crossed that someone will turn up. My email address is available on the website, please feel free to email or message me with any helpful ideas.

I'd like to thank the people who have helped to keep the club going for so many years, I hope that you all have some very happy memories.
