Orienteering in Daily Telegraph
O made it into the Daily Telegraph the other day: unfortunately it was only as the answer to 2 down in the quick crossword ("Sport using map & compass (12)"). Maybe next time ...

I meant it doesn't serve any purpose from the newspapers point of view - before the internet they were providing a service that wasn't available elsewhere but now if you want to know the results you just look on the internet. The papers know this and minority sports have pretty much disappeared from the results listings.

Telegraph again!
Orienteering again featured the other day: unfortunately, again it was the crossword where the compiler chooses the first two words which when read quickly form another word or phrase. This time the two first across answers were "orient" and "tiering".
Maybe he's a frustrated orienteer!

Here in Bulgaria the main newspapers write about orienteering, but the articles are mainly "The British ambassador Mr.Hill participated in competition, and became 3rd in his group", nothing special about the elite winners or something ...
