Although I am no fan of people posting controversial issues and even provocative views anominously, we should protect their right to do so as it does open up debate.
Am I correct in noticing that someone questioned the selection procedure for Juniors “selections thread”, albeit not tactfully and anominously. I then noticed that mharky (team nopesport) appears to have identified the “culprit” later on thus flushing out an apology from klebe.
I question whether this is the correct way to be running the chat pages, what do you guys think?

I think Lost has a point - and apart from anything else - its dangerous. there are 4 registered nope members in this household (5 for all I know) and all you can tell is which computer is being used - not who's using it - and 4 different computers on the net too - so you could make some very erroneous assumptions from here.
as you must be aware by now - I prefer you to know it's me being rude to you

I agree with you entirely LostAgain, people should be allowed to be completely anonymous and post controversial comments to spark heated debate.
Unfortunately to avoid cases of harassment and threats we log the ip's of users, so moderators have the ability to work out who guest users are under these cases.
Mharky should not have abused his power as a moderator.
Top Tip: if you dont want to be found when posting as a guest us an anonymous proxy.
There is a list of proxies you can use at http://www.samair.ru/proxy/ but make sure to alternate them.
You can alter the settings of ur web browser to use them.

True, except if your household posts something really naughty then the police will decide who's been bad. Except Pyrat just told you what to do if you want to post something really naughty...

Got to admit I was quite taken aback to see my guest post "revealed". I had purposefully posted as guest, both to protect Jo,and in order to test the water, so to speak. Apart from being very angry at the time I wanted an argument to develop in which I could then post as myself. I would guess that I am not alone in a guest post to fuel a debate.
I pm'd mharky as soon as I realised what he had done. His positive explanation satisfied me that it was done for the correct reasons. I bear no grudge at all.
Let guest posts be made anonymously, if the moderator or administrator feel that inappropriate posts are being made then they can pm the individual.
I personally would not advocate the use of proxies, posters should not be able to be THAT anonymous.
