I have just booked flights out to the selection races! Stansted to Riga on 16th June arriving at 19:15.(£78-one way) I then hope to get a bus to Vilinus that night or early the next morning.
I haven't decided what I am doing afterward but probably hanging around for a few days atleast. What are other people doing?

Craney and I (and possibly Neil Northrop?) are flying to Vilnius on the Tuesday after Jukola after a couple of days training with EsSu. After the test races I am flying back to Edinburgh via Gatwick on the Monday. Unfortunately not staying on much for Kapa or Takas. But probably hitting Vilnius on the Sunday night with Indre and whoever else.

looking to do 3 days of training prior to the races.
Staying at the Youth Hostel - which is the base for selection races.
Gross - any suggestions or link ups with other groups for training and travel to and fro are welcome...

mels...i've not booked anything yet. Might forget the jukola, and go direct out there.
I was thinking the same as alan, as bus takes 3.5hours from Riga-Vilnius so you can get a (slightly) cheaper flight via ryanair.
Who else is up for this? Maybe if a few more, we can hire a car in riga?

Training available.... it's probably easier for me if I get a central list from Dave Rollins rather than lots of individual requests. Then I can make sure there are enough maps going to be available.
For transport.... to be honest taxi is as good as anything:)
About bus from Riga..... you might find it's doesn't leave until around 3 in the morning...... I'll check tomorrow or wednesday. Also someone check if you can book bus in UK.... I don't think you can... but if I know I can book tickets in Vilnius

I checked the buses Riga-Vilnius when I was sorting out my travel . Seemed to be about 3 or 4 a day, and couldn't be booked online/from outside Latvia or LTU.this is the website you need. Another possibility is air baltic who offer fairly cheap flights riga-vilnius.
