This referred to the trophy that my son received. However I was at the relays, I worked there, but don't recollect hearing the commentator but then you don't take everything in.
Ref to Drew I agree that winning isn't everything and you don't enter for the prizes well at least in non professional sports. As I don't win trophies I expect I'd be delighted. Personally I just thought the trophies did not look inspiring. I didn't know if they were different to the JK99 ones or not.
It maybe we had a rough JK 99 trophy. Polished or stained to enhance the wood the trophy we had might have looked better.
I can assure you that we've had some pretty NAFF W Mids trophies on our shelf. Everything is down to personal opinion, and evidently others don't share mine.
