yeah you don't compete only for the prize but having sponsorship and lots of nice prizes makes the event more professional and leaves you with a good feeling about it.
eg. the hill race i was at last night was very small and low key and was great just for the race (hill training) itself but it had sponsorship from a local company so the top 10 men, top 3 women, vets juniors etc all got prizes.
for first lady i got a bag, a long sleeved t-shirt, a hoodie, a large golfing umbrella, a v. nice 1 litre water bottle and a polo shirt!!
what with the free tea, squash, cakes, mini mars bars and jam sandwiches for everyone afterwards this race deserves a higher turn out - (Kaim Hill race by the way)

But who would travel to Ipswich or Milton Keynes without the lure of cash prizes?Anonymous wrote:Drew says we don't compete for what the prize is so this shouldn't be necessary.

Porky maybe SOS and Suffoc could pair up to do a summer evening/ saturday series. Colchester has a few areas which could be used, and essex uni map is due for update using sprint mapping spec.
