The Surrey space center (the building situated next to the management school) has 14+ satellites in orbit around the world and Just down the road is a satellite research center. Surely the buildings shouldn’t have been a problem as there are a large number of satellite dishes situated on roofs around campus. I remember a time when we had live pictures of the Earth beamed down to the Elec Eng student common room in BB building which is sat just next to the space center.
But other than that it was a really good course.

well all of the results, maps etc are up now - I can probably see why Craney mp'd as 15 is almost on route from 12 to 13...

Yeah - the live results page has everything - I found it only seemed to work by emptying cache though. The area does look pretty tricky and the planner seems to have made the most of it. Seems a bit of a shame it could only be used for the qualifier...

Technical Support?
I'm not having any luck at all seeing the live site results. I've emptied the cache, used both Mozilla and IE. Is it possible that my service provider (NTL) is causing the caching problem?
Any tips anyone?

Message from the SI team this morning is that they have someone from the satellite company coming out today to have a look as it looks as tho the problem is with the satellite itself.
It's noping annoying for everyone trying to look on line, it's for the SI team given all the work and preparation they have done.

Not very impressed by the live website. Appears to be anything but alive - in fact very dead at the moment. Slow to see pictures, no commentary, no sprint results until late last night, no relay splits. It was a bummer to have to drop out of the WC but even more of a bummer to be a sofa spectator over the internet when the site isn't up to the job
On the other hand I have heard a lot of positive things about the race, map, arena and commentary at the event - so that is the most important thing. Well done organisers, but give your internet provider a big kick up the backside - they are not getting paid for the disfunctional live side I hope?
Congratulations to the GB girls yesterday for a splendid display of calm in a tight qualifier. Well done GG and good luck today lads in the relay!
