Resurrecting this thread to note that the rules have changed.
At the British Relays:
The 5 year age groups have gone. I.e. no M35, W35, M45, W45 or M/W55 classes.
The senior classes lap expected winning times are down to 32 minutes (from 40).
At the JK Relays:
For the senior classes the lap expected winning times are down to 32 and 24 minutes for the long and short legs, respectively (from 40 and 32).

How many clubs have problems with the M/W 60 class. We are lucky to have a good W60+ to run with our mass of M60's, but the others who are in that age either 'don't do relays' or would rather do AD HOC. This leaves several M60's also who can only do Ad Hoc.
The changes are a step forward but not as drastic as I expected. I'm pleased the lengths have been reduced maybe we'll get a few back who 'don't do relays'
Diets and fitness are no good if you can't read the map.
