The BOF fixtures list doesn't have the PP relay on it, and the advance BOF major events says '4th September SE'.
As it is very soon after the summer holiday, we need to do our recruiting before th holiday, i.e. in the next two months. So it would be useful if more details were available on location etc.
Does anyone know any more details than are currently published? Thanks for any info!

Hope its not on the 4th - can't make that weekend.
Not much help to you really, difficult to tell from the fixture list where it will be.

Looks like it is.

Thanks anyway. I've now got some info via the JCG and Peter Guillame, so for information:

The current position is that SEOA offered to host the event
at Frith Hill on Sunday 4th Septtember 2005.
I spoke to Phillip Gristwood last weekend who is the SEOA
fixtures representative.
The event centre, a school has recently changed hands. They
are currently renegotiating permission.
I will pass on any futher information once it is available.
I think that they may be looking for some help with the
event after the drain that the World Cup has put on SEOA
resources

Sorry to bring this one up again, but I was wondering whether there was any progress on someone somewhere knowing that the relay will actually be held? Is there anyone from the SE on this forum who might know whether there was any progress with the school?
I am a little concerned that if a confirmation of date and venue doesn't happen within the next two to three weeks, juniors will go away on holiday and it will not be possible for clubs to get teams together (hence no entries, hence a cancellation looming as it happened two years ago?).
Thanks!

i don't think our w18s should be criticised for getting selected for eyoc! just annoying for the rest of our squad that we've lost two of our best runners! and as for PPs, im not involved in the decision and so this is just the way i see it: its unlikely that sarum will put in a team as the dorset coast path is a pretty big event for the south west junior squad, and if sarum were to run then swjs would be left with very few runners, not enough for a team. its a real shame, we can only hope it won't clash next year

Could've sworn I read Peter Palmer on the thread title
but seriously - there are always going to be clashes, particularly for juniors. The sixth form exam season covers January, February, May and June. GCSEs take out April too, and many people have mocks in December. If July & August are out due to holidays & vegetation, you're left with September to November plus March!
ultimately, individuals, clubs and regional squads just have to make their own decisions based on their own priorities and the rest of us should repect that.

1st weekend in September was always going to be difficult as it's before schools return, some will still be on holiday.
However the older 18's wont have gone to Uni by then so might be available!

I did have a conversation with BOF office about the lack of info on PPRs last week. They were going to make some enquiries and try to get something on the website.
I'm sure the organisers must realise that time is getting short for clubs to get teams entered before everyone vanishes for the summer., so really hope there's some info soon

Use me as a case example. I'm on holiday from sometime in the middle of August till about two days before the schools go back. Hence if the PPs go ahead I will need to book flights/whatever back. Booking flights etc takes up a certain amount of time and planning but without any information about the PPs this plane is grounded - and it needs to take off soon!
