Code checking at BEOC Sprints
Did you check your control codes at the BEOC Sprint races?

Your poll doesn't allow for the procedure I went through. The control placings were obvious enough that I was always certain that I was at the correct location so didn't check the control code on the banner.
However - and I think this is the most important point - I did check as I left each control that the bars on the card were scrolling so that I knew the punch had registered.
Disqualification due to not checking the code (ie being in the wrong place) is a very diffferent matter to failing to register a punch even though you have found the right place.

Am I missing the point here? I didn't think you could check the actual CODES on the Emit brick, it just seemed to tell you whether you had punched or not (and what control number on the course you had punched, ie 1,2,3 etc).
So I was checking the codes on the flags to check it was the right control, AND the display on the Emit brick to check that it had actually registered.

As you punch the control the EMIT card shows the number (i.e. control code) of the control you have punched. As you leave the control site this changes to scrolling bars. I think at some stage it also shows you the split time for the leg.

I'm the same as guest, quite a few were so obvious that I didn't check them. But in general I was looking at the screen.
Paulo, it only shows the code on the screen as you are in punching range and for about 1s after you leave. So you have to be quick!

I looked at the display after every punch and never noticed the code display at all. Obviously I wasn't quick enough (a recurring theme for me I find).
Oh well, thanks I've learnt something for next time!
