Ha ha ha ha - I don't think we should go there this time, should we
I'll recommend belt and braces for future events
Where do we go from here?

Mrs H - I kept seeing you but you seemed to be quite busy for some reason so never got a chance to congratulate you on how well everything was going - during the quiz I was too busy making sure we beat Distracted's team!
Saw the map mats - have you found a new home for them now where they will help promote orienteering to likely recruits??
Travel - weren't the directions something like "on the A51 leaving Lichfield towards Tamworth, event centre is behind the pub immediately after A51 goes above the A38". Not sure the difficulty of understanding those directions or relating them to a road atlas merits several pages of debate!

Why did I do that...

Ha ha ha ha - we'll let's face it Jon - Andy was never going to win the quiz even if he'd been there (Mrs H. ducks behind her purpose built maple enquiries desk and adjusts tin hat )
The mats are here - will try to find a good home.
what rstraint are you talking about exactly Klebe?

Oh I know what I meant to ask. the elite start hot line - now I know we got the timings wrong as it took a long time to get hold of the results - but a lot of you phoned and I was eventually able to tell a lot of you your start times. I think it could work a lot better and will suggest that next year they rig up internet access at the event centre - if we'd had it we would have been able to give you your times on your first call - what do you think? I was particularly touched by Tom Bray thinking I would know how to text - thanks PeterB for sorting that out

CHS wrote:I Like Barn Dances! There were not loads of people at the one at the Welsh last year but mainly because it was called by the welsh name which maybe not everyone understood.
So was there actually a barn dance at the Welsh...or do you just count a Ceili as a "barn dance"? Because I'm becoming a bit anxious that we missed out on a great opportunity to avail of a barn dance...
I want to walk up the side of the mountain, I want to walk down the other side of the mountain. I want to swim in the river, lie in the sun. I want to try being nice to everyone.

I've just done my event centre accounts. I was given a budget of £500.
with generous support from UltraSport, CompassPoint, CompassSport, Kallkwik, Emit. UK, Nope, WMJS i2i Television, SWOA (when you're ready!) Great Barr hotel And our very own Hartmann's of Malvern, My expenditure amounts to £130 - not bad value for the whole weekend of activities and entertainment and that includes £100 to the tennis club for bailing us out on the showers.
I havn't included Lester's camp site expenditure - which covers sand, signs, sink fitments and donation for cub tent - comes to about another £60 I think.
So you don't have to break the bank to have fun - there's a lot of good will out there if you can tap into it.

Events at the Rugby Club were great fun. It was super to see so many people at the Banter evening, and the room upstairs was also full with happy punters who just wanted to chat. Well done for that evening. We particularly enjoyed the quiz - I mean managing to split 2 teams from Oxbridge cant be bad when we all went/go to unfashioable Uni's.

I've never been to a barn dance: I picture barns, floppy dresses, farmers, chewing straw....
Ceili's are a bit more common around here, well, in the country and gealtachts around here. But yeah, twas great fun in Wales.

Was aleady available this year via my Blackberry and the NopeCartel were provided with their times whilst they were supervising the SprintO. (And the news that the elite courses were voided - Dikalot was really gutted)
