SROC is sad to announce the death of Tim Watkins. He died in a car accident on Friday morning. Tim was a leading light in South Ribble and British orienteering and he will be sadly missed by a great number of people. Our thoughts are now with Frances and their families. Funeral arrangements have yet to be finalised.

Just to reiterate what others have said, this is a huge loss to the orienteering community and my thoughts are with Frances at this sad time.
Tim had been there and done and it and was so knowlegable about orienteering and training and did great stuff with the Fredrikstad exchange/Blodslitet etc. I first met him and Frances at a French competition a few years ago, they took me and Ste Shaw to a Chateaux (Chateaux Palmer in fact!) for wine tasting and out to dinner after one of the events. He was great and had lots of stories and orienteering wisdom to tell. A genuine and terrific bloke.

My thoughts go out to all his familly. like Ewan and Allan, i knew Tim through Clive, and spoke to him many times on the phone and at races. he was an awesome chap and will be sorely missed.
But may his experiance and knowledge live on through those that he passed it onto.
