Think the LOC one might have to be re-run. Confusion about courses - competitors given different loose descriptions from the maps they were told to pick up. Also one control at least 100m misplaced on both the blue courses and the brown.
Oh well, it was a beautiful day and the views of snow covered hills were magnificent!

from the LEI round it would appear that NOC and DVO go through and HALO go through to the Trophy. Results are provisional (and there appears to be a few discrepancies).
results are here http://www.leioc.org.uk/results/belvo05/index.htm

The NW round at Birkett Common, yes, had some problems. Unfortunately 141 was on Brown and both of the Blue courses. However, there is talk of trying to remove the legs to and from that one and use the results that are produced. We'll see!!
Likely cause was the snow.... hiding the site identification stick... so no verification when the control placed. Pity.
With full bright sunshine for the event it was sheer pleasure. The hills all around were simply stunning! The lying snow wasn't that bad.... just drifts in the shallow re-entrants and gullys. Isn't orienteering magical at times!

we have and think od won 2358 to chasers 2311
I think OD pipped us, too, and I think it was a bit closer than that. I think it was their juniors who swung it for them...
Wait and see the final scores for confirmation, though.

Please, please, please don't let that happen. In my mind it is such a wrong precedent to take. If it has affected people that much that the legs to and from have to be removed, then the rest of the course can't be deemed fair either.
You could take the times up to the previous control, but then that also isn't fair.
After various discussions about this sort of thing out here in Aus I can only see two options, one the course is voided, or two everyone accepts that there has been a mistake, it's unfortunate, but the whole results stand...
The idea that you can make fair results by starting removing splits etc is so, so wrong. (in my opinion!!)

Sorry Stew, but you might have to justify why the rest can't be deemed fair. Don't know if it is anything but talk at the moment.... but we can wait and see if they are published and what they look like.
