It's a fair point Gross, for BOF purposes MADO must be considered a sub-division of HOC, but MADO is actually a group of local orienteers who will be staging the Malvern Initiative this autumn, a very specific rapid fire series of events designed to attract and recruit families (not schools) in a specific area - MADO helps us qualify for locally based funding. and will allow members of other clubs to help us out.
Gross - You were once extremely scathing about me and other members of MADO having little chance of making any difference to the future of orienteering - which upset me as we have yet to meet - and although I am used to being underestimated - i am not used to being dismissed out of hand! Mr H. and I may not be elite orienteers but we are full of ideas, enthusiasm and energy and I have already seen my EVO ideas employed by other clubs and my early Jk promotional idea replicated for next year's JK and the Belgian 3 Days (word for word).
BOF executives have told me personally that they are not interested in my ideas - only my opinion of their ideas - and they're not interested in that unless it's favourable.
Expect to hear a lot more about MADO (once I've got the JK out of the way) IF it works it could be a way forward for many clubs. and it's got absolutely nothing to do with BOF!
I'd like to put our new logo on the bottom but i don't know how to

Well that's just plain stupid...... and I guess one area where we agree & I guess have both been told off for 'BOF Bashing'

You might also be interested to know that following your idea last week, i'm also hoping to make a positive approach to the deaf community in the area regarding the Malvern initiative. the little Hs school has the county hearing impaired unit (hence Neville's proficiency in sign language - his best friend is profoundly deaf) so there are many families with a local connection - I'm sure there is something we can do in that direction.

If things with the deaf develope then it would be possible to do some kind of exchange with the deaf orienteering club here in LTU. I've talked with Ann Smith about some kind of exchange bringing people across to the JK next year.... was hoping for a junior exchange but that seems to have gone of the boil a bit
Go orienteering in Lithuania......... best in the world:)
