you only need to look at how many young coaches are around these days - a whole load of them have been through BOF tours themselves and have an understanding about the positives and negatives of their own experiences.
I think that the new generation of coaches perhaps understand that the aims of coaching and tours are varied - theres always a chance that amongst the participants there might be another Yvette or Jaimie - but perhaps more importantly there is the aim of making orienteering fun and ensuring that juniors stay in the sport. The only way that juniors will stay in the sport is if there is a good social aspect to go with the competition and training. University clubs have been getting this more and more right in recent years, this forum is testament to that!

I regularly see "people in matlock," and update them with the gossip and chat from this site. Unlike us students they don't have time to spend reading and typing for hours. Most are aware of the existance of this site, and i'm sure they would be willing to listen to any ideas etc that come to rise and have a majority agreement. I know Peels site was used for discussion of various topics throughout last season, and note was taken of the majority.
