.....if I said I was thinking of hiring a couple of hot tubs for the JK Event Centre

You'd be better off hiring 2 wheelie bins and a large ice machine. Post race ice baths all the way. There's less evidence of the benefits of post race hot tubs, but it does sound like cracking good fun Mrs H. Sadly I'll be staying elsewhere. So I shall have to make my own ice/fun.

Ha ha - as always Harry we come into this sport from totally opposite directions - I was actually thinking of people having an enjoyable and social way of unwinding after the event - the theraputic qualities - or lack of them - hadn't occured to me - but i can't see people lingering to chat in an ice bath - mind you it would be a lot cheaper
I'm getting negative vibes here - do you really think it isn't a good idea?
Please say one way or another (I've got plenty else to be organising without it!)

I'm going to be honest.
Bad Idea. Maybe use the money (if its to spear) on more useful utilities, although as a rugby club it probably has good one.
But hot tubs, honestly. now a DVD playere and projecter onnto a biig screen, that could be fun!

Do you honestly think I haven't got all that in hand
Me and samsonite have plans - at least we will have when he gets in touch
but if you seriously think it's a bad idea I won't do it (Iwas going to get the money off someone else anyway)

If someone else is paying (and they specifically want to spend their money on hot tubs) then go for it, as I'm sure that they will get some use and will be appreciated. But if it's up to you how to use the money, something more practical like better washing up facilities might be more sensible - the lack of these was my only real complaint about the Welsh campsite this summer (apart from the wind that ripped my tent and blew away my sleeping mat...).

thats basicaly what the meaninng of my message waas. it would look strange if some useful utility ws't provided, but thhere were hot tubs. if ofcourse the campsite is fully loaded with everythinng and you have monney to blow, maybe they could go. but im sure settining up a stall selling milk and bread or somthing woudl also be useful

....you know I posted a thread about 3 months ago asking what you all wanted, now you say milk and bread (it's not far to the shops and you all have to leave the site every day so that's not high on my list) you said then a bus and somewhere to play with the kids -sorted! if you've been holding back on me then now would be a good time to say what you want - and I will use my womanly wiles on the campsite manager in an effort to make them happen.

Hot tubs can be very good for the orienteer.
softend the skin, you see, opens the pores
I have a couple of very amusing shots of the British Team in a hot tub.
Every signle one of them intently focussed on post race picking out of thorns and splinters -
loverly
